It has occured to me today, that I am indeed getting old. For starters, Matt and I are really into documenteries now a day. Our new favorites are Our America with Lisa Ling and we both bought the This American Life app for our phones- and listen to it non stop! I've always liked this American Life- but until now I've never gone out of my way to listen to it. If I caught it- then great! If I missed it- then oh-well! The fact that NPR has now made it to a preset on my radio stations- tells me I'm officially old.
The other hint at my aging is today was matt and myselfs first day off together in 14 days. How did we spend it? Did we go to a movie? Did we go to an art show? Did we go to the mall? No. We went to Borders to look at decorating magazines and then to furniture stores and then to Lowes. This would not have been a fun or good day off a couple years ago- quite frankly it would have felt like a waste!
We had a lot of fun- but we still feel that decorating delima. The problem is to get this house where we want it to be- ie) molding, flooring, tiling, etc, we would be putting in money that we would never get out. That being said there is an ADORABLE neighborhood in Edwardsville with houses that we both love- but if we buy a new house it means we are staying in Edwardsville. We would both like to move to KC- but the reality is that Matt would have to take a huge job demotion to go there with no promise of getting back where he is now.
So after spending an entire day looking at magazines, paint colors, molding, tiling, panaling, lighting, sinks, curtins, etc, we come back to the delima. The very thing that keeps us from really starting any more projects. How long will we be in this house? Limbo limbo limbo. There are way too many variables. And a trip to Lowes to add it up the costs of our projects only put us back in the what is our five year plan delima.
So after some re arranging of the living room- (again) we are calling it a successful day. Finishing it up with some home made pizza- NCAA basket ball, and you guessed it- DVR'd Our America. : )
Yep. We're getting old. But thats OK.

CSI: Cat Scene Investigaors
Matt and I are both workaholics. We've talked about joining a support group- but the meetings would take time away from work! I'm currently in the middle of a 13 day stretch. So between work and vacation planning, and if you're Matt NCAA tournement and bracket planning, etc no time to post.
But I thought I'd get a quick on in tonight so that you could all look into our glamorous lives!
Matt and I have noticed the house was smelling funky- but we'd clean litter boxes, clean dishes, run the dyson, etc. Well today it was unbarable and very identifiable. Cat urine. Yes. Cat urine. Just the works make your eyes water, don't they?
I got off work at 6- made the 35 minute drive home, only to be greeted by the worst ammonia smell on the face of the earth. So Matt and I ran to PetSmart to purchase a black light and natures miracle.
We stopped for dinner at Callahans- watched the end of the Butler game (as a Drake girl I put down Butler to win) and came home. **Matt will review this dining establishment when he can peel his eyes away from the tv**
Upon coming home- and having our faces pucker up from the smell- we turned the black light on. Lets just say the office appears to have been on big litter box. We used 3/4 of a bottle of natures miracle tonight and I am going to be calling Stanly Steemer in the morning to see when we can get here ASAP.
Part of me thinks we may need all new carpet- I'm sure its soaked down to the padding- and part of me hates to invest in new carpet if they are going to continue to pee there.
When I was little I would go to the nursing home and my dad would spray Libby and myself with his Calvin Klein so if we felt it was stinky we could smell our hand where he had sprayed his cologne. As a pharmacist I still have a bottle of perfume at my counter so if someone comes up who smells I spray the perfume so I smell it instead of the perfume. Know that when I go to bed tonight I'll be covering my pillow in perfume.
**in other news we are going on another crusie as previously posted. Not going to say when because that makes matt easy to rob---- but we are going on Carnival again. (despite the infamous tequila incident of 2010) their rates are so much cheaper we get more cruise for our money. But someday- we promise ourselves we will go on a grown up cruise**
