The next vacation......

So I promised myself I would write a trip report about our cruise. I only have one day written and saved, but I am going to write it if it KILLS me because I want to be able to look back on the fun times of the bunnymuffins on the high seas! Plus lets be honest- I am a trip report reader addict! Its time I pay back the trip report community!

I only get 2 weeks of Vacation a year. (GROAN) so this year, I am sneaking in a third. It will require me trading with other pharmacists and make for a few long weeks, but I think it will be worth it! I am taking Matt to DISNEY WORLD in September! Yes, I've been 10,000,000 times, but I'm still excited to be going back! We got the "Free dining" plan- and according to "TouringPlans.com" we will be in parks with crowd levels that are (on a scale of 1-10 1 is "less crowded and 10 is most crowded) on Day one: 2.6, Day two: 1.3, Day three 0.1, Day four 0.8, and day five 2.9   That is right. 0.1 !!! That is INSANE!! I will not say what park we are going to on what day in the PRE trip stuff, so that people buy touringplans.com, but it is the best $15 I think you could spend!!

I will indulge you with our dining information! : ) I was a little nervous about picking our dinning since we are booking only 100 days out (and dining can be made from 180 days out) but I was able to get us reservations at Moracco, Ohana, Tonys Town Square, and Tuttalio Italy. I may change a few of those around--- we'll see!! Moracco and Ohana are staying (I HATE moracco, matt picked it though and I'm trying to be a good sport).

In the mean time- watch for the cruise trip report! I promise myself its coming!

signs of aging.....

It has occured to me today, that I am indeed getting old. For starters, Matt and I are really into documenteries now a day. Our new favorites are Our America with Lisa Ling and we both bought the This American Life app for our phones- and listen to it non stop! I've always liked this American Life- but until now I've never gone out of my way to listen to it. If I caught it- then great! If I missed it- then oh-well! The fact that NPR has now made it to a preset on my radio stations- tells me I'm officially old.

The other hint at my aging is today was matt and myselfs first day off together in 14 days. How did we spend it? Did we go to a movie? Did we go to an art show? Did we go to the mall? No. We went to Borders to look at decorating magazines and then to furniture stores and then to Lowes. This would not have been a fun or good day off a couple years ago- quite frankly it would have felt like a waste!

We had a lot of fun- but we still feel that decorating delima. The problem is to get this house where we want it to be- ie) molding, flooring, tiling, etc, we would be putting in money that we would never get out. That being said there is an ADORABLE neighborhood in Edwardsville with houses that we both love- but if we buy a new house it means we are staying in Edwardsville. We would both like to move to KC- but the reality is that Matt would have to take a huge job demotion to go there with no promise of getting back where he is now.

So after spending an entire day looking at magazines, paint colors, molding, tiling, panaling, lighting, sinks, curtins, etc, we come back to the delima. The very thing that keeps us from really starting any more projects. How long will we be in this house? Limbo limbo limbo. There are way too many variables. And a trip to Lowes to add it up the costs of our projects only put us back in the what is our five year plan delima.

So after some re arranging of the living room- (again) we are calling it a successful day. Finishing it up with some home made pizza- NCAA basket ball, and you guessed it- DVR'd Our America. : )

Yep. We're getting old. But thats OK.

CSI: Cat Scene Investigaors

Matt and I are both workaholics. We've talked about joining a support group- but the meetings would take time away from work! I'm currently in the middle of a 13 day stretch. So between work and vacation planning, and if you're Matt NCAA tournement and bracket planning, etc no time to post.

But I thought I'd get a quick on in tonight so that you could all look into our glamorous lives!

Matt and I have noticed the house was smelling funky- but we'd clean litter boxes, clean dishes, run the dyson, etc. Well today it was unbarable and very identifiable. Cat urine. Yes. Cat urine. Just the works make your eyes water, don't they?

I got off work at 6- made the 35 minute drive home, only to be greeted by the worst ammonia smell on the face of the earth. So Matt and I ran to PetSmart to purchase a black light and natures miracle.

We stopped for dinner at Callahans- watched the end of the Butler game (as a Drake girl I put down Butler to win) and came home. **Matt will review this dining establishment when he can peel his eyes away from the tv**

Upon coming home- and having our faces pucker up from the smell- we turned the black light on. Lets just say the office appears to have been on big litter box. We used 3/4 of a bottle of natures miracle tonight and I am going to be calling Stanly Steemer in the morning to see when we can get here ASAP.

Part of me thinks we may need all new carpet- I'm sure its soaked down to the padding- and part of me hates to invest in new carpet if they are going to continue to pee there.

When I was little I would go to the nursing home and my dad would spray Libby and myself with his Calvin Klein so if we felt it was stinky we could smell our hand where he had sprayed his cologne. As a pharmacist I still have a bottle of perfume at my counter so if someone comes up who smells I spray the perfume so I smell it instead of the perfume. Know that when I go to bed tonight I'll be covering my pillow in perfume.

**in other news we are going on another crusie as previously posted. Not going to say when because that makes matt easy to rob---- but we are going on Carnival again. (despite the infamous tequila incident  of 2010) their rates are so much cheaper we get more cruise for our money. But someday- we promise ourselves we will go on a grown up cruise**

Date Day and New Bathrooms!!

Long time no update! As you can see from the last post- I had a really bad week. I was so sick! My throat is still raw this morning, but I feel a little less like death every day. (*so being sick and having to work means that nothing worth posting happened. I promise you didn't miss anything but wallering and nose blowing)

I have every other Friday off. Yesterday happened to be a Friday that I had off. So Matt surprised me and took yesterday off too so we could have a day together! (isn't he sweet?) We had a really rough start to the morning, as the Jetta check engine light kept coming on as we tried to leave Edwardsville, but finally at about noon we made our escape from the city limits and headed to the mall.

I got Matt a new pair of sunglasses for Valentines day and he went to pick them out. He ended up with a pretty snaz pair if I do say so myself! Then, on kind of a whim, we went to 2nd Wind Exercise equiment store. I have wanted a weight set for awhile now, especially since my gym membership is now officially over. I found a super duper awesome one on sale and bought it. We don't know when we are going to pick it up or how we are going to get it into the basement- but we got the Hoist V Express. (Feel free to google and be jealous!)

Matt and I have also talked about his bathrooms and how they really need a clean start. We had stopped at Macys at the mall earlier that day and looked at bathroom make over things. We decided since we had time before "surprise dinner" to stop by Bed Bath and Beyond. We were DELIGHTED to find that Amy Butler has a line there! AND its ADORABLE!

Here is our guest Bathroom before. It had my old shower curting but was just too blue. We needed to brighten it up and break up the blue. (Thats Scully- isn't she precious?)
After! Please ignore the tape on the floor we need to get it up. It held the old rug in place.

Master bathroom Before- beige and blue and again- not very bright or exciting
Master bathroom after!!
Matt says Success!! : ) Notice all our vitamins in the background? Yes Mom I take my vitamins! : )

We ended our mega shopping day with a surprise dinner at Portebellos in Clayton. This is where Matt and I had our first date! We hadn't been back there since, and Matt made reservations for our Valentines day dinner. It was WONDERFUL! From the bread to the meal to the dessert, everything was awesome! It was so sweet of him! I think we need to eat there more often because it was excellent!

Now today I have to wash all our new towels, and Matt and I are DETERMINED to finish the basement closet. All puddying is done- we just have to sand one more time and paint today!

Super Bowl? Super Sick :(

We are excited about the Super Bowl and Chelsea vs Liverpool today (well at least I am) however Callie has been hit hard by whatever she has, now just waiting and hoping she does not have to go into work today, because she needs the rest

So I had to take the worlds ugliest photo off our blog. Thanks Matt! : (

Not much to update. I miss the ability to breathe out of both nostrils at the same time and I feel like the blood vessels in my head could burst at any moment. But don't worry. I will be going to work today because as a pharmacist I am not allowed to be sick ever! : (   (*but i'm clearly not bitter or anything!) So hi ho hi ho its off to work I go!

Blogger app for Android!

Just testing out the new app, Android is awesome, iPhone not so much ;-)

Our Furry Family

So due to the need to post- (i know we're off to a great start aren't we?) and due to the need to learn how to upload pictures, I am posting about all of our fur babies. : ) Matt and I are "those cat people" and by "those cat people" I mean the cat people who have 4 cats and who base their plans around how much at home time we've had with the cats this week. We love our cats!

First Up: Scully! Shes my baby. I got her in pharmacy school as a study buddy/roommate. Shes the most vocal cat- she will talk your ear off if you'd let her! (mainly raw raw noises). She is a little near sighted and has a hard time jumping on things or over things, but it makes her all the more adorable. She is the cat that purrs me to sleep every night.

This is Baby Cat! His name says it all! He is a big sensitive baby! He is Matts cat and Matts shadow! Baby loves to eat. Its become kind of a game in our house- what will Baby eat! Cheetos, Cheese-its, mac and cheese, bread, so far the only thing he hasn't eaten is when Matts niece was over and gave him asparagus. That is the only thing he has said "no thank you" to! The problem is though he has a sensitive stomach and pukes! So you can't give him as much food as he'd like! Baby cat also enjoys cuddling and is the purr bucket who purrs Matt to sleep every night.

This is Deuce! She is also Matts cat, and is from the same litter as Baby cat. (they're siblings!) Deuce is "too cool" for her own good. Deep down she wants to be pet and hugged and loved, but she likes to play tough, independent, cat. Every now and then, if its on her terms, she'll come in for a cuddle/attention, but I can't make her just hang with me without getting clawed or growled at. Matt can, because shes Matts cat. Deuce is a great cat- she sometimes poops on our kitchen floor (sigh) but is a good girl! : )

Behold the newest addition to the bunny muffin clan. Skeeter. Skeeter was from a previous relationship Matt had, but she could no longer keep him, so we now have him. He is our tazmanian devil. He runs, bites, jumps, antagonizes, and tests all boundries, but we love him! He loves to drink from the sink and do whatever the other cats are doing. (literally!) If baby cat is laying somewhere, skeeter wants to be in that exact spot! If scully is eating, skeeter needs to eat! We have only had him since December so he is still adjusting to his life here with us, but every day gets a little better.

So there you have it!! : ) I learned to do photos, and you got to see our cats! : ) Yay!!

I'll leave you with the closet pics. Note its not done due to the fact #1. matt was sick, #2. i was snowed in at my house 30 miles away and working. I work this weekend and its Super Bowl so I don't think it will get done this weekend, but heres what we have so far!

Sweeny Todd

I love this movie, callie and I are watching it now, too much fun Johnny Depp it awesome! Also I highly recommend Chambord Vodka and 7-Up... :)

Tonight is a night in. Grilled cheese with home made bread and Chambord to take the edge off an infection matt is fighting. Am I a good pharmacist or what?!? (to the tune of nothings going to harm you) Ceftin can not harm you not when chambord washes it down----

Nothing else got on done on the closet today. We build like the Bleuths (from Arrested Development) But we still have tomorrow!!

Team Bunny Muffins

Just to clarify we call ourselves Team Bunny Muffins, I am not completely clear how we came to land on the name but we feel it exemplifies our teams attitude and desire to eat.

I tried talking matt into making it bunnymuffins.blogspot.com but he thought that was embarrassing. Who knew he could be embarrassed? : )

Our First Post!

Team Bunny Muffins is up to it again this time attempting to tape and mud the closet in the basement that I put together and it is no fun...  I would rather not mud anymore, taping is ok, a little bit of a pain but all in all ok, mudding, not cool at all, the screw holes and flat walls are doable but the corners!  Terrible just terrible not a fan at ALL.  Hopefully we can post some pictures soon on this project which we lasted about 2 hours on today before taking a break...

So Matts posting in Blue, and I'm posting in red! : ) We tried so hard today to get the closet finished. Matt is right (I don't put that in writing a lot)!  Mudding is a painful messy project and like all projects that we attempt- it looks much easier on you-tube then it is in real life! We got a coat done- but it has to dry so we can sand it and do layer two. Then I'm going to try and talk matt into painting the living room. : ) Currently we are on an Archer break (god i hate this show) which I'm sure will be followed by a sports break!
